Introducing our Senior Adult Ministry

Our Senior Adults are very special at First Baptist Church of Pelham. Our usual meeting time is the second Tuesday of each month. We spend an hour or so doing ministry activities (making items to be shared with residence or nursing homes, and other ministries). We share ministry needs, and develop strategies to involve our members in meeting those needs that we are able to do.  We enjoy a prepared meal (at a nominal cost) or as the case, several times per year, we enjoy a covered dish lunch consisting of our favorite dishes, brought by our Senior Adult Members. 

Our Senior Adults are involved in a definite "Volunteer Ministry" throughout the total ministry of FBC Pelham. It is our desire to be a positive force in our church. Our seniors see themselves as leaders in an effort to reach out to our community and reach others within our membership with a ministry of service.

Our Seniors enjoy an opportunity to sing in our Senior Adult Choir, participate in missions, both in our community and around the world.  Our Senior Adult Mission Trips are well attended, and tremendously effective.  The Seniors travel to interesting places for Day Trips, and also take two or three Four Day conferences which contributes to the excitement of a Church on Mission for our Master.

Upcoming Events

March 8, Tuesday - Senior Adults Luncheon at the Annex.  Cost $4.00.

March 14, Sunday - Mission Team will leave for New Orleans at 1:00pm.  We'll return on Friday, March 19.

March 29, Monday - Azalea Festival at Bellingrath Gardens.  Cost approx $25.00 plus lunch and light dinner.

April 12, Monday - Buds Best Cookies.  Leave at 9:30am.  First tour at 10am, second tour at 11am.  Max 15 per tour.  Lunch at noon.  Cost is your lunch.

April 13, Tuesday - Senior Adult covered dish luncheon in Annex.

May 1, Saturday - Senior Adult banquet in the Annex at 6:30pm.  Reservations required by April 25.  No cost to our active senior adults.

May 2, Sunday - Senior Adult recognition at church. Senior choir will sing.

May 3, Monday - Senior Adult Evangelism Conference in Trussville.  Leave at 8am. Cost is lunch.

May 11, Tuesday - Senior Adult luncheon in Annex.  Cost $4.00.

No luncheon in June due to Vacation Bible School.

June 27, Sunday - Branson, Mo.  Trip from Sunday to Friday.
