Senior Adult Ministry

Senior Adult Mission Statement

To Establish and maintain ministry opportunities for and with Senior adults to involve them in fellowship, ministry, and missions through First Baptist Church of Pelham – a lifelong ministry.

EVENTS

Monthly Lunch

Second Tuesday of Each Month

We share ministry needs and develop strategies to involve our members in meeting those needs that we are able to do. We enjoy a covered dish meal, brought by our Seniors, and on special occasions, we have a prepared meal at a nominal cost.  It is a special time of fellowship for our Seniors.

Cheergivers

Cheergivers, are separate but united in ministering to the homebound and shut-in.  Most of the participants are out of our Senior Adults who give great care to those who cannot attend the regular services of FBCP.  We want to make sure that no one is neglected in ministry.

Trips

Mission Trip

Each year we take a Mission Trip involving Seniors and others. For the past 20 plus years the trip has been to New Orleans working with Mission Lab at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  This partnership allows Seniors to have comfortable housing, meals in the seminary cafeteria among other mission groups and seminary students.  Ministry on this trip includes working with local ministries, nursing homes, and a construction project for individuals, families or ministries in New Orleans.

Special Events

Our Senior Adults travel to interesting places for day trips, and also take two or three trips that are 2-4 day trips to attend conferences and special events.
